THE ABBEY VALLEY AND RIVER - from source to sea Thursday, 16th October 2003 at 7:30 pm Hartland Methodist Church Hall The original slide presentation given by Revd Fred Pennington in 1988 has been prepared for showing with our new multimedia projector, with further information and photographs added.   THE STORY OF LUNDY Thursday, 20th November 2003 at 7:30 pm Hartland Methodist Church Hall Alan Rowland of Morwenstow, a member of the Lundy Field Society, will give an illustrated presentation on this fascinating island - just eleven miles off our coastline, its story has always closely interwoven with our own.   A LOOK AT THE OLD PRIVIES OF HARTLAND Thursday, 11th December 2003 at 7:30 pm Hartland Methodist Church Hall David Harris will be taking us on a tour of the old out-door privies he has located and will be looking at the coming of modern sanitation to Hartland - and the many problems caused by the lack of it!   THE HARTLAND ARCHIVE PROJECT Thursday, 15th January 2004 at 7:30 pm Hartland Methodist Church Hall Following an afternoon exhibition of Stephen Hobbs' work on the Hartland Archive Project, at which the North Devon Record Office, North Devon Museum and University of Exeter will also be present, the evening meeting of the Hartland Society will be shown a presentation of the archive through the multimedia projector and Stephen will be explaining all about the archive and what it has achieved in the first few months. HARTLAND THEN AND NOW Thursday, 19th February 2004 at 7:30 pm Hartland Methodist Church Hall An updated tour of our parish, taking a look at old photographs and comparing them with contemporary images - a tour of both the town and country.   HARTON TOWN TRUST AND THE HISTORIC HOUSES OF HARTLAND Thursday, 18th March 2004 at 7:30 pm Hartland Methodist Church Hall Stephen Hobbs will take us on a tour of the Harton Town Trust properties and some of the more historic buildings of Hartland, with both photographs and documents.   MEMBERS EVENING AND AGM Thursday, 15th April 2004 at 7:30 pm Hartland Methodist Church Hall Members are invited to bring along lots of old implements or utensils and it is planned to arrange an informal quiz evening, as members first try and identify the objects and later learn their true purpose. The business of the Annual General Meeting will follow.
