Hartland Town Trust
Established in late 1880's to take over the residue of the 'Old Borough' of Harton.
The Borough was established in 1290 by De Dynham owner of the Manor.
The collection of documents mainly relate to the period from 1570 - present, and includes a full set of accounts from 1614 to 2003; this must be a unique item on its own. There is also an Elizabethan manuscript which gives instruction for the administration of a court, detailing the procedures to be followed, the crimes and the punishments.
The complete collection has been recorded. Access is via the Harton Town Trust Secretary.
